Safety Tips

Because it takes a village — and we're building one you can trust.

We believe every family deserves complete peace of mind when it comes to childcare. These guidelines outline the role each of us — sitters, parents, and our platform team — plays in building a safe, faith-grounded community. We will take action in response to conduct that is inappropriate, unsafe, or dishonest, as described in our Terms of Service.

Community Guidelines

Sitter's Role

  • Treat every family with respect, professionalism, and a servant's heart.
  • Only accept bookings for age groups you are genuinely experienced and comfortable with.
  • Keep all communication and payments within the Find Christian Sitters platform.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and child-appropriate environment during every session.
  • Report any concerning behavior from families to our team immediately through our Contact Us page.

Parent's Role

  • Schedule a meet and greet with your sitter before the first booking — this is one of the most important steps you can take.
  • Research your sitter's church — reviewing its values, mission, and ministry focus gives you a clearer picture of the community and culture that shaped them.
  • Keep all booking communication and payments within the platform — this creates a documented record you can use to pursue legal action if needed.
  • Complete your family profile with accurate care instructions and an emergency contact in your area.
  • Treat sitters with respect and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for them to work in.
  • Report any concerns about sitter conduct to our team promptly through our Contact Us page.

Our Role

  • Facilitate trusted connections between faith-based families and thoroughly vetted sitters.
  • Maintain rigorous vetting standards including background checks and church verification.
  • Respond promptly to reports of misconduct and take appropriate action to protect our community.
  • Remove users who violate our community standards or Terms of Service.

Tips for Staying Safe

Always Do a Meet & Greet First

Before committing to a booking, we strongly encourage parents and sitters to meet in person — even briefly. A meet and greet allows both parties to ask questions, set expectations, and build the kind of comfort that only comes from a face-to-face connection. Trust your instincts.

Keep Communication on the Platform

Messaging and booking through Find Christian Sitters isn't just convenient — it protects you. When all communication stays on the platform, we have the ability to review records if a concern ever arises. Off-platform communication removes that safety net for both sitters and families.

Report Suspicious Activity

If something feels off — whether it's a profile that seems inaccurate, a request that makes you uncomfortable, or conduct that doesn't reflect our community values — please report it. Reach out through our Contact Us page and our team will follow up promptly.

Know Our Community Standards

Every member of Find Christian Sitters — sitters and parents alike — agrees to uphold our community standards when they join. Users who engage in dishonest, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior will be removed from the platform. Our community is only as strong as the people in it.

Marcia Kelsey-Martinez

I know firsthand how much courage it takes to ask for help — and how much trust it takes to let someone into your home to care for your children. That's exactly why I built Find Christian Sitters the way I did. Every policy, every vetting step, every guideline on this page exists because your family's safety is not negotiable. I don't just run this platform — I'm a parent too, and I hold every sitter on this platform to the standard I would expect for my own children. Thank you for trusting us.
