Parents create a free account, browse sitter profiles by location and availability, and connect directly with sitters who match their family's needs. Every sitter completes our vetting process — including a background screening and personal references — before their profile goes live. Sitters who also complete church or community verification earn a Verified Community Volunteer badge.

Every sitter is required to complete a background screening, provide a verified church affiliation, and submit personal references before being listed on the platform. We take a psychology-informed approach to community trust — we don't just run a check, we build a vetted village.

Use our Search Sitters page to filter by location, availability, and the age groups your children fall into. Once you find a good match, you can view their full profile and reach out to connect.

Free — completely. Families pay nothing beyond the sitter's agreed hourly rate. There are no booking fees, service fees, or subscription costs of any kind for parents.

That's between you and your sitter! We encourage parents to share their family's routines and expectations in advance. Many of our sitters come prepared with a calm, faith-grounded presence and are comfortable with homework help, activities, and age-appropriate care.

All sitters complete a background screening, which typically includes a criminal records search and identity verification, before being listed. Church affiliation and personal references are verified separately as an additional layer of trust.

Our sitters serve a range of age groups including infants, toddlers, school-age children, and tweens. Each sitter's profile lists the age groups they are experienced with and comfortable caring for.

Yes! Sitters set their own availability and many are open to last-minute requests. You can use the date filter on our Search Sitters page or filter specifically by Back-up Care to quickly see who's available for short-notice coverage.

Every sitter on Find Christian Sitters has been vetted through background screening and personal references, and many also hold our Verified Community Volunteer badge. Parent reviews are also available on each profile so you can hear directly from families who have worked with them.

Payments between parents and sitters are processed securely through our payment partner, Stripe, rather than directly on our website. Your payment information is safely encrypted and managed entirely by Stripe — your card details are never stored on our servers. An authorization hold is placed before your session takes place, then finalized for the actual hours worked once the session is complete. You can also leave a tip after the session — 100% of which goes directly to your sitter.

In the rare event a sitter needs to cancel, we encourage parents to reach out to our team through our Contact Us page so we can help you find alternative coverage as quickly as possible. We recommend discussing cancellation expectations with your sitter upfront and keeping a backup option available for time-sensitive needs.

No. Protections available through Find Christian Sitters — including our vetting standards, secure payment processing, and platform support — only apply when bookings are made and paid through the platform. Arranging care outside the platform also violates our Terms of Service. We strongly encourage all parents to keep their bookings on-platform to ensure their family's safety and security.
