FAQ for Churches

Find Christian Sitters is an independently owned and operated childcare marketplace that connects parents with faith-rooted sitters who are active volunteers in their local church communities. Every sitter on the platform must complete a background check, pass a child safety quiz, and have their church volunteer status verified before their profile is published.

Parents create a free account and browse verified sitter profiles by location, availability, and age group. Sitters apply independently, complete our full vetting process, and are listed once approved. All bookings and payments go through the platform — churches are not involved in any transactions or scheduling.

Your church's role is entirely passive. When a congregation member applies to become a sitter, they are responsible for requesting a verification letter from your church office, obtaining it, and uploading it to our platform themselves. We never contact your church directly. Your only involvement is if a member asks you to write a letter — and you are never required to do so.

The letter should be on your official church letterhead and signed by a pastor or ministry leader. It should include the member's full name, confirmation that they are an active volunteer, their approximate length of service, and your church's contact information. The sitter is responsible for obtaining the letter and uploading it to our platform — we review it for authenticity on our end.

Nothing. There is no email to respond to, no portal to log in to, and no account to create. Find Christian Sitters never contacts your church directly as part of the verification process. Your involvement is limited to writing a volunteer verification letter when a congregation member requests one.

No. Whether to provide a letter is entirely your church's decision, and you are never required to explain your reason to us or to the member. If a member cannot obtain a letter from your church, they will not receive church-verified status and their profile will not become active on the platform — but that outcome is between them and your office.

Simply decline to write the letter — or write one that honestly reflects the individual's standing at your church. You are never required to approve, vouch for, or advocate for anyone. If we have questions about a letter's authenticity after it has been uploaded, we may contact your church office directly — but that is the only time you would hear from us.

No. Sitters are independent contractors on our platform. Your church's involvement begins and ends with writing a letter for a member who requests it — and only if you choose to provide one. We carry platform liability — your congregation is not responsible for any booking, incident, or outcome involving a sitter after they are approved.

No. Writing a letter for a congregation member is not an endorsement of Find Christian Sitters, its policies, or the sitter's future conduct on the platform. We do not use your church's name, logo, or letter contents in any marketing material or public-facing communication.

No. Find Christian Sitters is independently owned and operated. Participating in the verification process does not create a legal relationship, affiliation, or partnership of any kind between your church and our platform. Your church has no governance role, no financial interest, and no obligation beyond optionally providing a letter when a member requests one.

No. There is no fee of any kind for churches. Families pay nothing beyond the sitter's agreed hourly rate. Sitters pay a one-time $75 background check fee and a 20% platform fee automatically deducted from their earnings per booking. Churches are never charged anything.

A sitter can list your church during their application, but they cannot receive church-verified status without uploading a letter from your office on official letterhead, signed by leadership. We review every uploaded letter before granting verification status. No one is ever marked church-verified without a signed letter from your church.

Find Christian Sitters handles all disputes and complaints internally. If a matter involves a sitter from your congregation, we may reach out to you as a courtesy, but your church is not required to take any action. All disciplinary and policy decisions are made by our team — not by the church.
