The Vision
While navigating a season of health recovery and a demanding schedule of medical appointments, Marcia became acutely aware of how fragile a parent's support system can be. When an unexpected North Carolina snowstorm closed local schools, the delicate balance of childcare and critical personal responsibilities was put to the test. It was during the process of reaching out to a small circle of church volunteers that the vision for Find Christian Sitters became clear: parents didn't just need "help" — they needed a centralized, reliable village that shared their faith and values, available at a moment's notice.
The Foundation
With an undergraduate degree in Business and a Master's in Psychology, Marcia recognized that the solution required more than just a directory; it required a platform built on psychological safety and community trust. Rather than waiting for someone else to build it, she took the initiative to master the technical side of the industry. She enrolled in a rigorous development program, learning to code from the ground up to ensure the platform's architecture was as secure and reliable as the sitters it hosts.
The Mission
Today, Marcia combines her psychological expertise in human connection with a disciplined approach to clean, production-ready code. Her mission is to restore "the village" for the modern age, ensuring that every family has access to vetted, background-checked sitters who share their faith and values. For Marcia, this isn't just a platform; it's a commitment to ensuring that no parent has to face a crisis alone.
