We welcome active members of Christian church communities who have a genuine heart for serving families. Sitters should be at least 18 years old, comfortable with children, and willing to complete our vetting process including a background check and church verification.

Click Become a Sitter in the navigation bar and complete our multi-step application. You'll provide basic information, your childcare experience, availability, church affiliation, and references. Once submitted, our team reviews your application before your profile goes live.

All sitters must complete a background check through Checkr, our trusted screening partner, provide a verified church affiliation, and submit personal references. Yes. A one-time fee of $75 is required as part of the application process. This covers your background check through Checkr, which includes criminal history, identity verification, and sex offender registry search. The fee is paid securely during the final step of your application.

Yes. Sitters on Find Christian Sitters set their own hourly rates. Your rate will be displayed on your profile so families know what to expect before reaching out.

Yes. Find Christian Sitters retains a 20% service fee from each completed booking. This fee supports platform maintenance, background check processing, and the tools that connect you with families. For example, if you charge $15/hour for a 3-hour session ($45 total), you would receive $36.

Payments are processed securely through our platform. After our 20% service fee, your earnings are released to you once a session is complete. You'll receive a notification when funds are on their way.

Once a session is marked complete, payment is typically processed within 2–3 business days. You'll receive a notification when funds are on their way. Payout times may vary depending on your bank or financial institution.

Absolutely. You are never required to accept a booking. You control your availability, your rates, and which families you connect with.

You decide. During your application, you'll select the age groups you're experienced with and comfortable caring for — from infants to tweens. Families can filter by age group when searching, so you'll only be matched with families whose needs fit your experience.

Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to sitters. Details are outlined in your sitter agreement. We recommend discussing expectations with families upfront to avoid last-minute changes.

Once your profile is live, you can log in at any time to update your availability, rates, bio, and photos. Keeping your profile current helps families find you more easily.

We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you need to cancel, notify the family as soon as possible and reach out to our team through our Contact Us page so we can assist with rebooking. Frequent or last-minute cancellations may impact your standing on the platform.

Accepting payment outside of Find Christian Sitters is a violation of our Terms of Service and puts both you and the family at risk. Off-platform bookings are not covered by our payment protections, and sitters who circumvent the platform may have their account suspended or permanently removed.
